Mother’s Old Maps

My mother died recently and we were going through the many boxes of things she had collected in her basement over the years. Going through them was like a window into the past especially when we discovered old maps from the various trips she and my father had taken. One map in particular caught my attention, it was of Iran in 1960. I remembered the many stories she told us of traveling in that area. One of my favorite was when they arrived in a city and began searching for a Meridien Hotel on the map, it was only after several hours of searching they were finally told it hadn’t been built yet!
