I have a business on the Internet and last week I looked at some numbers and saw some interesting things. When people place an order and pay by check the average amount is smaller than those people who pay with a credit card. Very few people order my most expensive item ($500) and pay with a check. And the average number of items when multiple items are ordered is almost always larger when they are paying with their credit card. Which makes me very glad that I have credit card merchant services.
